• The “Car Plate Identify System” created under the joint R&D of Intercept Company and Professor S. J. Lee, Information Management Dept YZU, has been enlisted in the activities of “The Industry Upgrading Express Program” organized by Medium and Small Business Administration, MOEA, and won the fruitful opportunities and niche. 

• The Virtual Network Group Web Site having been operated by Sunnet Technologies Co., Ltd. for a certain time, resulted from support of YZUIIC, caught the keen interest of Acer Group. As a result, the web site was lately put under control of Acer Group with its investment of NT$36,000,000 poured to be 30% of Sunnet’s capital shares, aiming at nourishing Acer’s strength in the worldwide inter-net markets.

• The “Data Mining Team” – mainly technical staff from Hwa Yang and Sunrace – directed and led by Prof. Y.C. Lu, Information Management Dept and Prof. Y.H. Cheng, Business Administration Dept. has won the BOT project released by Council of Securities & Commodities. Accordingly, the principals of the team will further dominate in the BOT products market with its existing information technology competence techniques and the information provided by CSC. 

• The “SECA Standardized Construction Software Package” created through R&D by Success Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. and supported by YZUIIC won a “Excellent Work” Award in “1998 National Outstanding Information Application & Product Recognition” in Taiwan. 

• Thrilling overall strength of the team of Rainbow Media is being noticed in the information industry in Taiwan. They keep standing out for two major reasons: First, the major staff members of Rainbow Media International Co., Ltd. have devoted to their career, the establishment and evolution of Rainbow Media immediately after graduating from Information Management Dept YZU. Second, they have won incentive fund from “The Incentives for R&D in Civilian Developing Small Businesses Focusing in Technologies”.
